Do several of your family members have kidney failure?

Has your doctor said you have an inherited kidney disease, but he or she isn’t sure of the exact name?

Has a disease run in your family for a long time, but no one knows what it is?

If you are asking yourself any of these questions, you may qualify for a free genetic test to determine if you have ADTKD.

ADTKD can only be diagnosed through genetic testing. Availability of this complex test is still limited. This test is currently provided free of charge through Dr. Anthony Bleyer at Wake Forest School of Medicine to patients who meet the clinical criteria for ADTKD:

  • chronic kidney disease

  • bland urinary sediment (little blood or protein in the urine)

  • autosomal dominant inheritance.

There is no need to travel to receive the test; testing can be done remotely using a local lab that can send samples to Wake Forest.

If you or someone you know is a potential candidate for genetic testing for ADTKD, please contact us via the form below and we will reach out to you as soon as possible with more information.
